Learn About Our Weekend Camps

Camp Peniel provides special time of relaxation, rejuvenation, and bonding.  Groups minister to each other in the name of Christ.  Families grow closer as they play and worship together. Excellent Bible teachers bring new insights from God’s Word. Trail rides, breakfast cookouts, and campfires shape lasting memories. We are all on a faith journey and our weekends allow you the time to think about your life and about what God wants for you personally. For two days, you will have all of your needs taken care of while being in the company of others.  This weekend is free of chores, work and family duties, and filled with great food and friendship. Pull back from the world a couple of days and enjoy God’s creation.  Most retreats begin with a light dinner Friday evening between the hours of 6:30 and 7:30 with activities starting around 8:30 PM and end Sunday after a delicious lunch.

Father & Son Cowboy Camp

Date: March 8-10, 2019
Where Adventure is Beyond each Bend in the Trail!

This trip will take our fathers and sons by horseback into areas where no vehicles are permitted, allowing them to see wilderness few ever venture to explore.  Guests eat Old West Cowboy meals cooked over an open fire and enjoy cool January nights ‘round the campfire with all the stars they can bear.  After a hearty meal, a healthy dose of campfire lounging and star gazing, guests settle in for the night in one of our tents.

Imagine sitting in the saddle enjoying breathtaking views of hill country wilderness.  It doesn’t get any better (in Texas anyway)!  Pack trips take guests back to a simpler time and give them a glimpse into the  Texas that trappers and traders first experienced in the early 19th Century.  Great Bible studies and awesome bonding times!

Family Work Weekend – Camp

The Adventure is beyond picking up a stick on the Trail!

Take this time to invest in the relationship with your daughter.  Retreat to the Texas Hill Country to get away for quality mother-daughter time and wonderful memories.  Every daughter needs her mother to listen and to share.  So, leave your cell phone, your to-do list and the worries of life at home and let your little girl know that she is the most important thing in your world.  Come enjoy fun activities like arts and crafts and outdoor cooking.  Grow closer as you challenge yourselves on the low ropes course, zip line and the climbing wall.  This is sure to be a memorable weekend.

Family Fishing Camp

Date: April 5-7, 2019

Cost:  $180 first two campers, $75 for 3rd, $65 for 4th.  Deposit: $25 pp. Campers ages 0-5 are free.  RV charge:  $50

Come join us for a fun filled fishing adventure on the beautiful waters of Lake Travis. The   sunsets will be magical and the fellowship will be memorable. Your fishing skills will be put to the test as we try fooling some white bass, black bass, crappie or catfish on to our lines. Family Kayak Camp

Come experience a peaceful, laid back time with your family away from the usual hectic, noisy, stressful world.

Last fall we had so much fun that we have planned two more trips this spring!       They are true wilderness experiences – kayaking on the Colorado River, cooking   on backpacking stoves, sleeping in screen cabin and tents, living without     electricity  or plumbing, playing in the river, and most importantly, experiencing   our awesome, loving God through His amazing creation. All of this in a   community  of other adventure seeking families.

Each adventure will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday and end with lunch on Sunday.

Learn all about horses, saddling, feeding, and grooming while having a fun weekend riding the dusty trails with your daughter and other mom and daughter groups.  Our Equestrian Director will show you a wonderful weekend enjoying daily trail rides.  There is limited space, so early to secure your horse and saddle.

* Riders must be 8 years old to participate.

Our desire is for moms and sons to get away and make memories together by playing, talking, being silly and studying God’s Word together. We provide a weekend for you to do just that. We take great pleasure in serving families as they spend time away from the normal pressures of day to day life.  You and your son will not soon forget the time you spend here…time to sit on a swing to talk and dream, time to study new truths about God, time to encourage one another on the zip line, time to laugh at each other on the trail rides or the crazy treasure hunt.

Thanksgiving Family Camp

Date: November 21 – 24, 2018

A tradition at Camp Peniel that began in 1957!  Take time to tune into what is truly valuable and important in your life.  Each family brings a dessert and a vegetable or salad to share during the Thanksgiving meal. Families also share dining hall duty for one meal.  It’s a barrel of fun!!

Spring Family Camp

Whatever happened to quality family time? With busy schedules and to-do lists, wouldn’t it be great to really connect with your family in a meaningful way?  At Camp Peniel, we’ve made it easy for you to build unity, have fun and experience God… as a family!  At our family camp you’ll spend quality time with each other, have interactive sessions and learn how to strengthen your relationships as a family with Christ at the center.  Our activities will give you a chance to challenge yourselves and encourage each other.  You’ll have down time to discuss family issues and help your relationships grow with each other and with God.  Your kids will have a blast.  You will feel what it’s like to be a kid again.  And, your entire family will have one of the best weekend vacations ever!
